Fire Emblem Engage is a turn-based strategy game with a straightforward storyline. The genre is ideal for multiplayer, where several players go into battle together via the online feature. However, the fixed storyline has made co-op impossible for the game series so far. Find out below if there is a multiplayer mode in Fire Emblem Engage, what online features there are in general, and more.

Is there an online multiplayer in Fire Emblem Engage?

The Japanese Twitter account for Fire Emblem posted a video back in December 2022, in which you can see a kind of joint test. These are the so-called relay trials, in which you participate in turn-based battles together with other players.

Use Relay Tickets at the Tower of Trials in Somniel to participate in the asynchronous online battles. You can also create your own maps and share them with friends. In the Dimensional Trials, you can also follow other players’ battles and possibly learn new strategies.

Note: You can only create one map per Nintendo account at a time. If you want to upload another one, you’ll have to overwrite your old creation. If other players fight on your map, you can even watch them and inspect their results.

Local co-op on one or more consoles

Unlike in the Fire Emblem Warriors games, there is no co-op in Fire Emblem Engage – neither on one console, nor across two or more consoles. On the official website for Fire Emblem Engage from Nintendo, the details under Player state Single System (1). Accordingly, this is a game that you can only play in single player mode.
